ZICHRON YAACOV
This relatively new serie of wines holds the name of the city where was created one of the two historic sites of the company which has also become a symbol of the renewal of vine culture in Israel.
Reasonnably priced (from $ 7 a bottle), these wines don't show very much complexity or are not the kind worth keeping for long years in a cellar. I found in the original release a pleasant intensity and soft tastes which make them acceptable as everyday wines, or even for something a little more formal.
I'm not sure that the newly release from the 2001 vintage marks a lot of improvement.
